This was us on Sunday. We blocked most of the road but luckily cars could get around us and everyone was pretty nice about it. Because our driveway has an incline we couldn't back up any more without the truck hitting the cement.
Unloading actually went pretty fast and we were able to take the big truck back later that afternoon. The U-Haul trailer had to go back the next day. We are feeling more and more settled. Each day is something completed or connected. Today the builder and developer come back to put the under cabinet trim on. This helps conceal the under cabinet lighting. We have only found a couple things that need fixing or attention. One is a dead bolt that doesn't work and the other is a large area of the granite that appears to not have been sealed. I can't believe I didn't ask more about the granite and what type of sealant they would be using or if they were even going to be sealed at all. When we remodeled our kitchen in Washington this was an important discussion. Kinda smacking my forehead on that one. It's not terribly noticeable, just in certain light. We had our furniture delivered on Tuesday and that has been kinda disappointing. The table has a couple flaws in the finish so it's going back. The recliner footrest part seems to be lopsided although it seems to work okay, just looks "off." Then the couch doesn't "sit" at all like the the one on the showroom floor. For me it's important that my feet touch the floor for whatever we buy. The cushions are hard as rock and my feet don't even come close to touching the floor. WTH? I'm just hoping once the cushions get broke in that it will feel like the couch on the showroom floor. I did go back in and got the area rug ordered for the living room. We are having one made using regular carpet. Shaw makes some soft backed carpet and it's perfect for making area rugs out of. We should get that next week sometime. All in all things are coming together and it's starting to feel like home.

Yippee i am so happy you are getting settled in your new home. Can't wait to see pictures of it all pretty.
